Cookies policy

Last updated September 14, 2026

This policy describes common cookie categories. Before launch, compare it with the actual production scripts, analytics, authentication, embedded services, and consent mechanism, then list providers and lifetimes accurately.

1. What cookies are

This policy applies to visitors worldwide. Cookie consent requirements vary by country and may require prior opt-in for analytics, advertising, and similar technologies. We will use a consent mechanism that respects applicable regional rules before activating non-essential technologies.

2. Regional consent and signals

Where required, you can reject or withdraw non-essential cookies without losing access to core services. We will consider legally recognised browser or platform privacy signals where technically and legally required, subject to the capabilities of the consent system and providers.

3. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by a website or its providers on your browser or device. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, SDKs, and tags. They can remember a session, recognise a device, measure usage, or support security.

2. Essential cookies

Essential cookies are required for core functions such as sign-in, session management, security, fraud prevention, load balancing, consent preferences, and routing. Because the service cannot operate safely without them, they generally cannot be switched off through our preference controls.

3. Preference cookies

Preference technologies remember choices such as language, region, display settings, accessibility preferences, and dismissed notices. If disabled, parts of the experience may reset or require repeated selection.

4. Analytics and performance

Where enabled and legally permitted, analytics tools help us understand page performance, navigation, errors, search behaviour, and aggregate usage. We use these insights to improve reliability and product design. Analytics should not be used to infer sensitive traits or make employment decisions.

5. Functional and communication technologies

We may use technologies that support embedded content, application routing, secure uploads, transactional messages, and delivery measurement. Third-party providers may set their own technologies when their services are used; their notices explain their independent practices.

6. Advertising and social technologies

If we introduce advertising, remarketing, social plug-ins, or similar non-essential technologies, we will update this policy and, where required, request consent before activating them. The current platform should not be understood to authorise every possible future technology.

7. Cookie choices

Where required, a consent banner or preference centre lets you accept, reject, or customise non-essential cookies. You can also clear or block cookies through browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in, applications, saved preferences, or other features from working.

8. Browser controls

Most browsers let you view, delete, block, or receive alerts for cookies. Controls vary by browser and device. Deleting cookies does not necessarily delete information already held by the platform or a provider, and your choice may need to be repeated on different browsers or devices.

9. Retention and updates

Cookie lifetimes vary. Session cookies expire when a session ends, while persistent cookies may remain until expiry or deletion. We review this policy as technologies, providers, and legal requirements change and will update the date when changes are made.

10. Contact

For questions about cookies, consent, or privacy choices, contact hello@jobconnect.africa. This policy should be aligned with the actual tools installed on the production site before launch.
